After installation, the iphone had a "unknown error: 1611", and the phone would not restore functionality. The apple support page listed above was worse than useless. Even microsoft does a better job with support. I'm furious. I cannot use my phone until this problem is fixed, and apple sure as hell isn't helping - in fact, they caused the problem. I suppose I could call apple support: IF MY PHONE WAS WORKING! I “sync’ed” my iphone this morning, was offered the iPhone 2.0 software update and foolishly accepted it.
